FREE LANCE WRITER STEVE THORNE. Home
Over the past few years free lance work has always been a "tough nut' too crack! we all seem to stagger from one job to the next. We hope that one day we will land that regular,reasonable paid gig(or gigs) that will enable us to sustain ourselves
and maybe just contribute some-thing worthwhile too the writing community.
After a number of years doing this work,its important to stay IN TOUCH! Too this end my recent foray into theW.W.W. was interesting too say the least.
People who know turn away.....if you dont,I have the guts and balls to TELL THE TRUTH! To this end I am going to name,names for those maybe not so aware.
The degree of and the "cleverness" of writing scams on the net is criminal. I come from a teaching back-ground,but have worked extensively in many areas.Not the least being the Rock/music industry.Not exactly known for its wholesome image.
What I, found hardly suprised me,but scum dwelling bottom feeders we DO-NOT need in the writing industry.So for the,young,and,trusting,and the gullible......and.......at the cost of never writing my self again!
Please people watch out for one Mary Gersten and her O-DESK-Qualified....thing. Be aware of seek and subscribing too their "jobs" email service...esp...frelance...they never are.
Blog-it....$12.95/month/year=$155.40.....I doubt whether you will even break even.
I could go on, and, unfortunately have to end with a shot at Helium.com......these people are decent,helpful...etc.
But ask yourself how many people are writing for them,and what percentage are making money,if any at all.
Helium is a good place too practice! Dont be fooled by the word publish they are NOT a publishing cmpany......but any thing you write for them,they own the copy write
REMEMBER any thing you write any-where you AUTOMATICALY OWN ITS COYRIGHT.
They are a large scale outfit with "HUNDREDS OF DRONES" producing product for any one who wants too buy it.So you not only lose your copyright,you have no say in the "sale" of your work. Sure a minority are earning money but only after writing in the right places,at,the right times....???whens that?......and for 1-3 yrs,after having built up a pile of articles.
ASK other HELIUM members how many cents,yes,cents they have in their accounts at helium. THINK ABOUT IT. GOOGLE IT
and you will be suprised at what you will find.
The Wiki I,m using right now is ONLINE/FREE/CAN BE SELF PROMOTED/AND IF YOU CHOOSE YOU CAN WRITE HERE, OR WRITE IN M/SOFT WORD .....ETC.....AND LINK DIRECTLY, TO REPUTABLE FREE-LANCE EMPLOYEES.
ANY-WAY there goes my writing career;but I dont think so, because the people I,ve mentioned are fully aware of what their doing,and why would I ever want to write for them.....AND WHY WOULD YOU!
